Thanks to Jayren for the invites, this was my 1st ever screening in 2011.

Forgive me as I didn't really watch the Scream series before and did not know that it was actually related back to the 3rd instalment of this movie franchise until I did some homework after back home.

Scre4m takes place a decade after Scream 3 where the 3 "veteran" casts will reprise their roles in this 4th instalment.

Story takes places 10 years later with Sidney (the lead role) is already famous with her stories based on true incidents in her life , she dubbed those movies as Stab 1 - 3 (Based on Scream 1 - 3's occurrence). Sidney was back in town to promote her book and was having an autograph session with her fans when someone alerted the town's police about a murderer and drew Gale's (the policeman's wife cum Sidney's bestie) attention.....

Then, unexpected incidents takes place around Sidney, involving her loved ones ........As the story goes on, her friends and family (and family's friends) were killed 1 by 1 by the mysterious Ghostface whom possess some superhuman abilities which made him/her able to escape easily after confronting the victims.

The ending of the whole movie was quite disappointing to me as it was a bit insane (well, killers in such movies are always out of their rationale) and I hope this 4th instalment will also be an end of the Scream series although sources in Wikipedia said the director is making this Scre4m as the 1st out of the new trilogy after 10 years time.

Nevertheless, the motive of the killer can be justify with the trends of our new digital era with the booming of social networks and the expansion of the Internet's Web 2.0 and greater.

At the end of the day, it's all about Attention.

p/s: Lesson learnt from Scre4m -> Do not rely 100% on the cops when you're in danger, you gotta be alert and act smart if you're caught in deep sh*t. Part of the reasons why the Ghostface can cause the many tragedies in the film is credited to some lousy cops. Also, do not trust your friends easily too :p You'll never know....

Over-pressure

Yes, as a United fan, I'm truly disappointed with the blunder goal that paved wealthy neighbours, Manchester City the path to their first ever FA Cup Finals since 1981.

Was so disappointed watching the first half and not to mention, witnessing the goal that ruined the game before Mr.Scholes was sent off (an obvious hint that marks the end of our ~~treble~~ repeat since 1999).

Who to blame? City's wealthy that many accused of them buying the FA Cup (though they just won the semis, their opponents in the finals should be a weaker team than United anyway).

Or the media that kept writing up stories to stir up the almost-forgotten treble in 1999 which one (even most United fans) could never expect it to be done again in this critical period of time with so many issues affecting the club throughout the 10/11 season.

Maybe our first 11 men were pressured with the high hopes that were revived thanks to the mass media, this gave that a very uncomfortable away game and not forgetting our Rooney was banned recently by the FA due to "swearing" after a hat-trick against West Ham.

Well, I hope what Rio Ferdinand & Sir Alex Ferguson said was right. The team will be looking into games one-by-one and will not be carried away by the treble hopes (now that it's gone, maybe double expectations?).

Just bring out the best as you guys are the champs-gonna-be in 1 month time !

One Step Closer to the Maxis Om Nom Nom Race

It's a brand new year and I'm sure all of us had great & precious memories of 2010. For me, I ended my 2010 dramatically in the very last week with a car accident that was my first major one in my 4 years of driving.

I know the damage is nothing if compared to the other road accidents you guys may have encountered before, but the impact of this was quite tremendous, causing a lot of inconvenience to me till now. That's not about it, I prefer not to share my other "suey" stuffs in public during that week but make it short.... I was SUEY enough with few unhappy incidents taking place simultaneously that week. Despite so, I told myself that EVERYTHING's GONNA BE ALRIGHT.

Well, like what Jay Sean's 2012 Lyrics mentioned .......

"You know what they say? Life ain't always Easy

and everyday, we're survivors ...."

I accept & faced that with an optimistic heart (though it's not that easy, it takes time) ...

I ushered the brand new year together with a bunch of cool bloggers (Main courtesy to Henry & Jayren) + my high school buddies.. It was a non-stop crazy night & day I must say.

Not forgetting going all the way for this.....

Don't give up when you're down, because there's always people that will bring u back up. They're known as friends =)

Enough said, with all the tantalizing activities on New Year's eve + New Year day to usher 2011, I must confess that I haven't had enough of fun and enjoyment and what induces me to write this was the Maxis Om Nom Nom Race.

What's that? Make it simple, it's a FOOD edition of the Amazing Race and there is no need to explain much on how it works as almost everyone knows but this one involves more tech-stuffs like blogging & e-applications.

Why would I be so desperate in signing up for this AwEsOmE Maxis Om Nom Nom Race?

Blogging now is not just about glueing yourself in front of the comp, but also involves participation in awesome & outrageous events ! Since last year, I've the opportunity to meet various bloggers from different background which broadens my perspective on different things.

I've already mentioned the New Year Eve + activities with the blog-gang earlier, not only that.....

I attended movie screenings & gatherings with fehmes bloggers .....

Met some celebs with fun bloggers too.....

We went for festivals like Bon Odori ...

Also, we did amazing challenges during the 1st ever Largest Bloggers Gathering =P

not forgetting the entertaining & helpful nuffnang crew during the coffee session !

3. I'm very enthusiastic to try on new stuffs like gadgets and applications (provided they're fun, of course!).

According to reliable information, the Maxis Om Nom Nom Race involves the usage of iPhone 4, Finder 301 app as well as Maxis' Wireless Broadband services.

Finder 301, a location-based app comes in handy with contacts & maps if you're in search of the nearest ATM, food & beverage, banks, and other outlets, particularly when one isn't familiar with the surroundings !

Dad saw this Dragon Fruit plant in front of his friend's house and asked me to snap the pic and send to The Star's thumbnails section , hoping that we might get the RM50 as a prize or something.

Yes.. that's my name. Anyway, got a call from some1 from The Star. I thought it was a prize-winning call... yet it turned out to be ... "Excuse me, may I know WHERE & WHEN you took the picture?"

It seems that they want to narrate this picture caption in more precise (mentioning the location, which I don't know what purpose though).

Thanks to our Asian Hero, Park Ji-Sung whom scored a brace (including the injury-time winner) against the threatening Wolves Fc over the weekend.... Man Utd are 2 points behind Chelsea and the race is still open though.... Anyhow, I support the red devils but I don't think they're capable to retain the title this season =\ given all those disappointing draws and internal issues.

What I find interesting ever since noticing Wolves FC being promoted (and relegated and promoted again after few seasons), is that their simple and stylish logo.

Surprisingly, the authorities of Wolves FC came out with such a cool design in the late 70s and has since then became a notable icon among British football clubs. Three main colours were used (forgoing the tradition crest like other established clubs) in this logo which a striking image of a wolf with fiery eyes. That's what attracted me to notice this underdog (underwolf).
* Their logo resembles some cartoon team like the Transformer's logo which STANDS OUT and gives you the perception of "WOW". *

A disappointing fact is that, despite their striking and noticeable colours among the EPL teams, Wolverhampton FC has failed to survive in their previous EPL campaign and it will be unlikely for them to avoid the bottom 3 by the end of the 2010/11 season. Perhaps in the future, not near future though.

Maybe Wolves FC could consider venturing into animation for children to boost more side income as an endeavour to lure more foreign & quality players? =) Their management can exploit this logo of theirs by building a good impression among the young in the TV/toys industry and maybe potential youngsters will be joining in their Youth club ... just like Michael Owen, David Beckham, Wayne Rooney and Frank Lampard?

To be frank, I'm very very very inactive in blogsphere nowadays due to work & other stuffs that causing me to be damn exhausted at night. I find myself hard to commit to blog as I have high demands on myself about what to write and not merely for the sake of blogging. It's like doing assignments. That's why I prefer to play the facebook, tweet & msn rather than blogging when I'm super stress/moodless.

Nevertheless, I'm writing this post for Shannon Chow as she's an active blogger whom I know that will become a successful individual someday. She's very active in events & happenings, which include charity & meaningful events like the Pedal Away Polio in Sept 2010. Now she's back for another project dubbed,
Project Revive !

I see this project as a meaningful & worth to support event as I've been involved in the Student Council of my campus and Raleigh KL as well, we do discover that there're much more people who're less fortunate out there. It's our responsibility to help'em in some way (monetary terms/man-power).

Enough said, kindly refer to the attached picture for more info about Project Revive which is a charity dinner & concert aiming to raise funds for neglected kids from Precious Home & the Bario Project which involves the Kelabits in Sarawak. Local artist, Juwita Suwito (I know her from Malaysian Idol) is there to entertain those supportive individuals on that night.

Venue: Multipurpose Hall (MPH) of Taylors Lakeside Campus.

Was at Sunway Pyramid last Sunday to check out the most happening streetfest in the town, 8tv's Showdown street fest.

Was there quite early, therefore there was not much crowd yet =p

Arghh... I feel sorry for my blog especially when I'm busy with work.

Can hardly have to time & mood to reply comments/blogwalk during weekdays night.. Moreover, my office's comp is restricting us from accessing apps like ChatBoxes. That's why I can tweet and facebook in office but couldn't blogwalk.

Blogging is tiring if you make it as a routine-task. I won't force myself to blog, but will only blog when I feels like it's time to do so. Sometimes, I just don't have the time =\ Editing pics, Uploading, Thinking of writing better....

Road Trip wiv 麻辣兄弟 [part3]

Continuing from the previous post (Part 2),

It was a great day for a Justin Lo 侧田 fan as a female one was being invited on stage and the Hongkie apparently appeared in a guitar with white while performing the song, Erica for the girl seated on a chair. His self-performing session 自弹自唱 showed that he is capable in a variety of genres. Justin then ceased this opportunity to sing the chorus of Nobita 大雄, the song he wrote for Leo Ku 古巨基 before releasing his own debut album. It went quite well until he forgot a bit of the chorus =P

Speaking of Leo Ku, Justin's 1st ever performance in Malaysia was as a Guest artiste for Leo & Miriam's concert 4 years back. P/s: I'm the one in blue with my old glasses behind Leo Ku .

Back to the topic, then it was the soft-core 抒情 session by Justin with Morning After, B.O.K (I like this song, everything everything will be okay~) & 我有今日 before he introduces a HK band, Rubberband (cool name eh?)

Sad to say, but it's always been a true fact, the Rubberband performing session was the Toilet Breaking Session for most audiences as they can't hold their bladder after dinner in Genting with drinks brought into the arena.

Justin too performed 天台飛人 together with Rubberband as an effort to promote his juniors under the same label.

Not forgetting the 2 hot dancers =) The stage was apparently theirs for few minutes when Lo was down greeting some fans.

It's back to the trademark love songs of 侧田 in the 2nd half with 紅地氈, new song 無限大 (Everything, Everything~) as well as the emo 情永落......

Road Trip wiv 麻辣兄弟 [part2]

Continuing from the previous post,

I guess I still didn't explain why we went up to Genting. As I said, it was to enhance our knowledge in performing arts, especially in music. But how?? We learnt music through a Hongkie named Justin Lo.

I was lucky enough to secure 2 tickets for this awesome concert. I had the opportunity to go for his debut concert in Genting 2 years ago, but I sold off the tickets to my friends due to inconvenience sake.

Expect a large crowd for Justin Lo as this is his 2nd concert in Genting, Malaysia. The turnout was satisfying for a moderate venue like the Arena of Stars. I doubt the Bukit Jalil Putra/National Stadium'll be packed with people if Justin hosts his concert over there. It's kinda costly too. That's why most HongKong artiste have their showcase on the peak.

Since meals on the peak are costly, we had cup noodles in the hotel room while playing Monopoly Deal (An interesting Monopoly card game) before the show started.

Our tired & exhausted driver of the day. 麻辣 Chern Horng. p/s: We had badminton in the morning, bath awhile at home, then rushed to Genting for Justin.

I voted for #2 Elva as she rarely drops by to Malaysia for concerts/showcases. Elva is HOT ! I hope she won't go up to Genting, perhaps have some concerts back down here =P

I was levels up above the "Meet-the-Fans" session held at the centre stage and only get to feel the atmosphere for about 10 mins before rushing for a quick dinner and the premiere screening of the film. Everyone's rushing, you, me, jay, chi-ling, director, everyone... Busy night I can say.

Okay. The comfortable Gold Class seat.

It was my very very 1st ever experience being in GSC Gold Class. I know this might sound bit "jakun", but it's not cheap for a screening like this. Costs around RM40 per person I guess!! Spacious enough, it's like a private hall for exclusive individuals.

Oh yea!! But some Jay Chou fans are gonna kill me if they see this .....

It was super worth balancing my time between my assignments and the outing with Jay & Chi-Lin that night. Glad I passed all with flying colours. Phew...

Movie Review: The evil Kitty Galore (a former MEOWS agent) is attempting to place her revenge against the dogs by turning'em against their mortal owners and this is threatening the world peace which is guarded by the dogs' Intel HQ & MEOWS. Together with a team of 4, comprising Agent Butch, Diggs, Agent Catherine & Seamus the silly pigeon, the battle between good & evil takes action with cats & dogs teaming up for the 1st time ever. Full with suspense, action, adventure and comedic scenes (also silly), the not-starring-so-much-human film may not be as promising as the prequel, but works well as a family entertainment. Kitty Galore was the ugliest cat I've ever seen in any movie.
*I wish they'd have featured more canines or maybe Garfield as cameo*

Ratings: 6/10

Another sequel? No thanks. Maybe a spin-off may see increments in future ticket sales. I'm kinda fed up with Alsatians as stars of canine films, quite looking forward to Marmaduke where we have a funny great dane =)

Vampires Going The Distance

If not for Shannon Chow & WenYi, I'll not be able to make it for both screenings of Vampire Sucks & Going The Distance. Really appreciate that =)

I've not been to such screenings for many weeks & months I guess. Anyway, the former was not worth a single cent if you ask me to tell you the truth. It's a parody as all we know but allows me to understand better bout Twilight since I did not watch a single one out of the 3 franchise movies under the title.

Meanwhile, the latter which stars Justin Long & Drew Barrymore was a much better romantic comedy. Justin Long has becoming fitter and fitter compared to the 2004 film of his (Dodgeball: The Underdog Story). Drew Barrymore at least set off some weight (I think) for this film. Both couples made a great and understanding one like the theory (-) + (-) = (+) .

It may not be one of the best romantic comedies I had, yet it's theme and title made it stand-up from others. Long distance relationship (LDR) is some common phenomenon experienced by a lot of couples out there, especially when they're studying/working at different soils. This movie also recalled my previous sucking experience with LDR, at least the couples in the movie managed to overcome hurdles and obstacles ahead of'em together. A lot of obscene languages were used throughout the movie which made us laugh out. Thanks to Dan & Box, the movie was not so boring with the 2 idiotic friends that are always for there for Justin Long =P

Going The Distance Ratings: 5.5/10

p/s: Drew's Brother-in-Law (in the film) mentioned about the 2 breeds of dogs I had, because both breeds love drooling !

There's a duo band called 浪花兄弟 in Taiwan (I don't know their English name, yet they're backed-up by Jay Chou and he admirers their talents too). In the Malaysian scenario, we have 麻辣兄弟 comprising of Jan Yee, Chern Horng, Kang Jie, Weng Sern + Me, with some cameos from Chin Chuan, Teck Kean and a newly-recruited member: Zi Qin.

The regular members of 麻辣兄弟 went up to a mountain last Saturday with an endeavour to enhance each member's knowledge and become wiser in life.

Football fans like you & me are expecting a more intense battle for the best with new challenges from money-spending Manchester City and other threatening clubs like Totenham, Aston Villa and Fulham FC against the top 4.

Not much big signings have been made by the Big 4 while City has been spending millions like nobody else's business (Still can't win one la....Give me the money better la. Can sponsor me to do my post-grad abroad and set up a new business).

In the midst of assignment deadlines (few days after my finals), I took some time to meet this dude when he was in town for 1 of his recent movie.

In the end, it took me half-day with him & his co. but glad that my results and outing paid off well. Phew.

It wasn't easy for him to visit our place due to his sardine-packed schedules and appointments around different land.

The press conference

The duo were so busy with 3 back-to-back interviews at the same floor, from magazines to TV entertainment programmes. It was an honour to be invited to the press conference with the 2 superstars + their director (though the movie was poorly responded despite I feel that it's still okay).

I even brought my assignments (drafts) over there after meeting Jay & co. since we'll be waiting & meeting few times later on that day itself >< (How hardworking of me).

At least everything paid off well with the flying colours in my hands now ^^

Why Vampires Suck?

With massive influences by mainstream media nowadays, vampires suck blood no more. Instead, they're sucking on WEALTH.

I believe vampires (~~Cool~~ western ones & the Chinese zombie-type of vampire 僵尸 as above) have already established themselves in our mindsets since we were young, way before the success of Buffy, Twilight, Vampire's Assistant, Vampire Diaries, etc.

Businesses certainly have changed how vampires behave nowadays. They're not so creepy any more. Vampires now look like us. Yes ! You and me. Also, we could be vampires too if we learn the trick (Like what occurred in The Vampire's Assistant). Vampires now are generally having a campus lifestyle and blend into mortals well, protecting them against even-greater super villain-type of vampires.

Then WHY VAMPIRES SUCK? O.o

Again, it's back to the money matter ! Modern vampires don't bring out the vampire feel. Thanks to Hollywood, they're now commercialised to suck dollars, pounds, ringgits, yuans, yens, euros, etc instead of Haemoglobin.

And who're their latest victims?

naive & innocent young girls/virgins.

not only that, their MOTHERS too !

men who're parents, husbands and boyfriends of the 2 groups of victims above =.=

Out of the hundreds of wishes *Thank you guys & girls*, there's this unique birthday wish I'd like to share..

What a tweet idea from ShiiTeck !! Anyway, speaking of this, I've only tried 2 flavours of this Mamee Sllrrrp instant noodles before which are Asam Laksa & Kari Berapi before. Goes well for my picky appetite.

I've recently found out that some friends (ShiiTeck, Liki, Henry, Pennie, Shannon,etc) are actually instant-noodle fanatic like me and we've shared our views via facebook and twitter about this college-student-favourite-meal. Some said I should try the Kari Extra Pedas of Mamee Sllrrrp, they feel it's cool to have such noodle in black packaging. I can't wait to try this flavour when I'm planning to restock my noodles supply within this week..

In case for those who're curious with how I usually have my supper served with..... the pics below explains it all. *Yummy*

The HERO of the Night

I'm glad dad brought this Mamee Sllrrrp back while shopping recently. He knows my favourite.

This instant noodle comes in handy every time I'm in trouble, (e.g. nothing for breakfast, emergency call from tummy, campings). Of course, we know having too much of processed food aren't good for health. Nevertheless, this Mamee Sllrrrp is a good alternative for rice & dishes especially when I'm just cooking for myself in the middle of the night and need just a bowl to fill my hunger.

Movie Review: Predators

There's a lot of (+) reviews and feedbacks on this Predators film merchandise prior to its official release and this surely induced me to pay for this film.

The title "Predators" actually carries 2 meanings: 1. There are 2 type of predators in this film : Small & Large; 2. The title is also reflecting on the chosen humans themselves (their acts & sins as they're the most dangerous killers in their own world).

Story

A group of 8 humans were deployed in an unknown forest only to discover that they've nothing in common except for being dangerous. As they get to know each other, they were more exposed to unwanted & strange incidents but this is just the beginning. Sooner, their "leader" Royce (played by Adrien Brody) suggested them to get to a higher ground as they realized something when they all look upon the sky... They're in another planet (which looks exactly like a tropical forest in Earth, minus the large planets on top of them). When the situation is boiling hot, Isabella (played by Alice Braga) was forced to reveal that the mysterious predators hunting'em were actually last heard to appear in Guatemala during 1987 and only 1 guy from the special unit force escaped by covering himself in mud to avoid his temperature to be detected (Referring to Predator in 1987). Royce feels that the 8 of'em were put together to be part of a "game for these predators to hunt. They are the preys.

The team felt that they were doomed when one predator was stalking them from the beginning and managed to group these humans together before confronting'em. Also, the men found out that the larger predators caught a smaller predator in their "bbq" territory to be slaughtered. As the predators chase their prey and the human team shrinking in the midst, more actions explodes with different battling skills demonstrated by the 8 individuals whom are from various parts and backgrounds around planet Earth.

Interesting

The Predators is kind of like an allusion of Aliens (1986), with the film set in a non-human planet. A lot said that this film is way better than the boring AVP & AVP: Requiem. I agree with that
The director is a Japanese Kendo fan and insisted the battle between Yakuza enforcer, Hanzo with a large predator to bring out a Japanese samurai battle feeling. That's something different from the previous films.
To add in some lameness & jokes, a death row inmate, Stans (serial rapist & drug addict) joined the team of 8. He should've been slay by the predators at the beginning =)
The cast this timing is quite good. The leading actor, Adrien Brody (from The Pianist & King Kong) was well-built in abs despite his nerdy looks, making him more heroic. The director & producer insisted to have a non-Arnold actor to avoid comparisons between the 1st predator film. Also, they feel that real-life soldiers actually look more wiry than burly. Topher Grace (Valentines Day & Spidey 3) is also 1 of the cast. I like this bad guy's looks. There's also Laurence Fishburne from the Matrix & 21.
Do not underestimate the doctor.
There's a lot of f*cks throughout the movie.

Boos

Despite the little bit stand-out from previous merchandises, one can already expect how the Predators will be like and end up. What I wanted to see was the action & battle between humans & predators, it ended up slightly above average, yet does not really satisfies me. There is still a larger storyline for the producers to expand and answer.. "Who grouped & deployed these humans?" Is it the predators? or were they sent to this planet by their own earthlings? The story suggests that the Predators sharpen their killing skills by capturing dangerous beasts from different planets in the universe and land'em in this planet for training purposes. *If that's the case, how did they identify these humans and capture'em?*

Overall ratings : 6/10 (nice attempt and phew, this film was at least released during a not-so-peak season, they've something to yield from).

Rush Hour @ Manhattan Fish Market

Finally! After several busy weeks & days, I had the mood & time to update ChinkZone !

Thanks to Henry the Munkey as usual for his generous invitation and Tony's ride, I was able to make it in time for e@Curve's Manhattan Fish Market (MFM) food review session.

-Everyone is busy with work, play or studies. We're always on-the-go and MFM recently launched its

Rush Hour @ Manhattan campaign to please busy diners like me & you.-

Intro

I guessed most of us are quite familiar with MFM as it has 18 outlets nationwide, with half of it in the Klang Valley, therefore I need not introduce much about this well-known seafood casual dining chain. For one's curiosity, MFM was actually inspired by the famous 180-year old Fulton Fish Market, under the Brooklyn Bridge in New York. 3 young entrepreneurs set up the 1st outlet in Singapore 8 years ago and expanded it to other Asian countries since then. What a successful big bulks-earning franchise business huh? and I was wondering all this while is this franchise chain originated from MY or SG.....

Surprisingly, me & my high school mates celebrated Chi Yee's birthday last year at the same table and it was also stacked up to be long enough. A memorable one indeed after our K session. Damn missing K-ing...

Alright, just like the blockbuster merchandise starring Jackie Chan & Chris Tucker, MFM introduced 4 new fabulous dishes.

Tired of writing and ~~talking~~ here. Need to quench my thirst with Citrus Mint (RM 6.90), a cool & refreshing beverage which served me throughout the dining session. Some of us even had 2 glasses and you should know why.

Served with MFM's famous chips, this youthful on-the-go meal includes tuna flakes with vegetables wrapped in tortilla. I enjoyed having this with my bare hands on it. Henry was even trying to eat gently using fork & knife. LoL

Spicy pasta lovers will be delighted with the red hot chilli flakes sprinkled all over on spaghetti & shrimps..

While the others are fine with the spicyness, I personally feel it's bit spicy as I hardly take spicy foods especially chillies. Nevertheless, it brings out the appetite to finish the whole plate when you have hot stuffs like this.

Eat green, Live green, Go green. That's what everyone in town are going for nowadays. With a small portion of tuna flakes served with fresh green, MFM offers Flakin' Fun in the Garden. [RM 13.90]

It goes well with the 2 sauces : Caesar Chutney (Sweet) and Cajun Honey Mustard (Sour). A good dish for vege-lovers. Too bad I'm not, that's why I've more tuna with the greens. *yummy*

If you're a frequent MFM patron, you'll find this flame thrower nothing new.... but the tuna pie is indeed an innovative breakthrough. We often see chicken & beef pie, but this one is a unique one.. Topped with creamy mozzarella Cheese and loaded with chunky tuna bits within, all guys love this dish and thumbs up for it. It's really filling and we needed a break before moving on to other dishes. It's nice to have it when the CHEESE still hot..

Wow. I guess this is my 1st ever fOOd review post ! (Sorry for the late posting, was quite busy with work & stuffs lately)

Before I start off, credits and appreciation should be given to Henry & Lisa for their restless efforts and invitation for this mouthwatering dinner.

I haven't try Indonesian food for some time (almost a year ago) and my most recent experience with it was terrible. Perhaps the cuisine style doesn't suit my flavour and I was kinda reluctant to go for this when Henry firstly informed me about this. Basically, I've shown not much interest. However, my perception towards IR1968 shifted positively after browsing through a food review section of a local newspaper last Sunday.

One thing that caught my attention was former beauty queen, Debbie Goh's picture with her attractive smile. Next, I saw some dishes that induced me to read more with pictures reflecting the restaurant's ambience and last but not least, the yummylicious Shrimp & Corn patties. I didn't know it was actually the same restaurant Henry mentioned, and without thinking twice, I asked him is there any space left for me?

Glad I made it in the end for the dining out. Avoided the jam with the LRT & speeding Metro bus and reached IR1968 even faster than those came by wheels! The restaurant wasn't hard to find at all.

She met her business partner, Hudson Chang while hosting a TVB
culinary programme and was convinced by him to set up this star-studded patroned franchise in Malaysia.

Bout IR1968

- Abbreviation of Indonesian Restaurant Year 1968.

- They had 2 outlets in HK which are highly-rated and celebrities & VIPs made up 1 of their loyal customer base.

- The IR1968 M'sian outlet is almost 3-months old.
- Hudson's grandfather (from Surabaya) & dad brought in this Indonesian cuisine restaurant to HK in 1968 and it started to grow since then....

Enough of introduction, let's skip to the edible part.

Before having any bites, Debbie and Hudson introduced us with their 4 famous drinks which include:

(L-R: Ice Lemongrass Ginger Tea, Mango Kiwi, Sour Plum Juice, Fresh Peach Tea)

I find the Sour Plum Juice (RM12) & Fresh Peach Tea (RM12) quite outstanding among the others especially the Fresh Peach Tea which gives us a very natural taste and the Sour Plum Juice opens up my appetite after few sips. The Mango Kiwi (RM12) tastes quite thick but I somehow can't taste much mango or kiwi from it. The healthier Ice Lemongrass Ginger tea (RM10) was my choice of the day. Why? Because I was still having sore throat with phlegm and it comes with less ice. Anything with ginger will make you feel better when you're not in good condition and I like it for its refreshing feeling and "just-perfect" type of beverage. Neither too sweet nor too sour.

Starters

This was the dish that induced me to come for IR1968!! Introducing, Perkedel Jagung (Shrimp & Corn Patties @ RM15) Yummy enough with minced shrimps & corns.

Mau cari gaduh ah? Jk. This is a traditional Indonesian salad goes by the name, Gado Gado (RM18)

It consists of bean curd, bean sprouts, lettuce, potatoes, cucumber, cabbage, boiled eggs, PRAWN CRACKERS (my favourite among'em) and not forgetting their thick peanut sauce (with prawn paste). I love the sauce, it goes well with the salad. The sauce tastes very similar to our Rojak's sauce/Satay Celup's.

Soups

Sup Bontot (aka Indonesia Ox-Tail Soup) @ RM12 better known as Sup Ekor in Malaysia.

Hudson also joked around when explaining about its name. "But that's really how it's called in Indonesia!", he laughed. The spices and tomatoes lifts up its aroma and is a signature soup among IR1968's Malaysian customers.

IR1968 not only offers genuine Indonesian cuisine but also has Indonesian-Chinese flavours in their dishes such as

Shark's Bone Soup (RM20) which looks very creamy, like the typical mushroom soup we normally consume.

At first, we thought it was Shark's Fin Soup only to discover a misinterpretation between both sides after tasting few sips. It tastes quite different and is more creamier than the Shark's Bone Soup my parents prepare. Chinese food lovers may find this dish unique enough.

Sop Wanton !! (RM15) 1 of my favourite soup. Why? Because it has dumplings and the soup is prepared with prawns. I love prawns =)

Main Course

Tummy starts to call? Well, look down NOW.

Rice with a party cone on it?

Nasi Goreng Special is its name. (RM25) The satay looks yummy indeed. Too bad Henry got it before me!!

And this? Tauhu Goreng Telur (Fried Egg & Tofu) @ RM18

One of Hudson's favourite dishes. Imagine the aroma produced by frying these 2 ingredients.

Another party rice. Nasi Kuning Campur. @ RM25. The rice is really yellow because it is boiled alongside with ginger, becoming 黄姜饭, making it healthy indeed. It is served with eggs, crackers, beef rendang & perkedel daging (potato + beef fritters). The beef rendang and perkedel daging goes well with the rice. I personally don't like to take beef, yet I feel like having more after few bites of both. Thanks to the gravy & Indo taste blended with it.

* In case, some may be wondering about the cone-shaped rice, it actually has deep meaning behind it, not merely for decorative purposes. It mimics to the holy mountains of Indonesians and represents a thanksgiving ritual for their annual harvests/blessings. These kind of rice is served only on Sundays (Even Hudson also was unsure the reason behind), yet we assume that Sunday is a family/holiday for everyone, that's why its only available on this special day. Back in Indonesia, the rice will look piling very tall just like a mountain and villagers will be sharing it together on Sundays. Nevertheless, this IR1968 mini-version of cone-shaped rice is served daily in HK & Malaysia.

* Perkedel daging & jagung were actually influenced by the Holland culture during their colonization in Indonesia.

Kids'll definitely love this dish -- Sotong Kuning!! I can't stop staring at this before getting my hands on it. Fried squid with salt, pepper & ginger @ RM38 is recommended by me!!

For Asam Laksa lovers, I think you'll love this dish. Ikan Asam.@ RM38.

Tastes well (Sweet + Sour) and I can have 2 bowls of rice by just mixing the soup with it. A very nice dish for those with not much appetite to start off a meal.

Another Jayleo's favourite dish (or snack), Ayam Asam Kacang. (RM22)

Fried chicken served with minced peanut & plum sauce. The sauce + peanut crumbs + fried chicken makes it a top rated snack. You will not be 100% pleased if you did not combine all 3 components when consuming.

Okay. I'm saving the best for the last.

The Dish of the Day award goes to............Semur Lidah @ RM32. *applause*

Lidah? Yes!! It's tongue in Bahasa Malaysia & Indonesia. What Tongue? =P

Grilled Ox's Tongue !!

It's really tender enough and I was bit reluctant to taste such a part of an Ox. (It was my 1st time tasting an animal's tongue).

Result?

AWESOME !!!!!

Smooth enough indeed. Too bad we had to split with so many people. If not, I'd be taking the whole tongue.
This explains why it is dubbed as IR1968's signature dish & customer's best choice.
One who walks in the restaurant without trying this makes no difference without coming in.
Baboon & Wendy did not know what was this initially until Henry explained to'em right after they had the Semur Lidah in their own tongues. =P At least they replied it tastes very good too.

Price: Pricey a bit but it's worth going in if you're looking for a high-end Indonesian restaurant which also offers Chinese-style dishes.

There is always a reason behind why one is keeping so many secrets from others.

People often ask... how come you get to meet Asia's most hottest and popular superstars?

Well, that's a secret that is not yet to be revealed.

Some also approached me before with questions like "how come you get to excel in your academics when you're not a bookworm/doesn't study at most time?"

My dad loves to question me about this and I made him pissed whenever I'm slacking around with the Internet and hanging out despite examination & assignment periods and I shined out from the others when the results were released.

The secret behind my youthful and charming look? the secret I've kept aside from my friends and family all these while, all the secrets above are actually inter-related and converges to a main hidden secret which explains why I'm so secretive sometimes.

I'll tell you more about this when I've got the premiere screening tickets for this year's biggest secretive movie, Inception.

It's a nice ending of Project Alpha Season 2 , I (and others) will surely be missing it, especially the Instant Cash Blogging (ICB) part~ hahaha. It was an attractive & smart marketing strategy to have the blogging community to promote this project while rewarding bloggers to blog about relevant topics for the past few months !

I'm sure this even made most of us spending more precious time of each others and face the PC/laptops while trying to squeeze their brains to blog about each week's topic.

Toy Story 3 is releasing in the right moment, as we grow up with the 2 prequels.. and their Toy owner is already a young adult too...

It definitely reminds us of our childhood memories with all the toys we've... oh no, I wonder where're all my toys now??

I know rappers have their own style and attitude, but one must remind him/herself that they do've limits when bringing up certain issues and they're IDOLS/Public people, whatever they say, they do, they wear will influence thousands and millions of people worldwide, especially their fans... *those young & naive fans in particular*

Can anyone recall Kanye West's storming and embarrassing act on Taylor Swift during the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards? I'm not siding Taylor but the action was seriously shameful for a top US celebrity like him. When Taylor Swift was accepting her award for the “Best Female Video”, grabbed the mic and shouted out, “Yo Taylor. I’m really happy for you. I’m gonna let you finish but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time!”

Imagine someone doing that to you during such award-giving moment.... and the way he apologised to Taylor Swift was more like bogus than sincere... Despite so, he made another apology after the former, perhaps after being confronted by his close friend, Beyonce...

Nevertheless, after this incident, I feel that he needs deodorant because his mouth and attitude stinks. Perhaps the Intensive Anti-Perspirant Spray by Adidas below will change him to be a better man just like how Peter Cech became an excellent goalkeeper.

Thanks to Krazy & Baboon for the invites. Went for Nightmare @ Elm Street's special screening on the date & time in the pic above, with the blog gang + weng sern (not-so-active blogger).

As I've expected, the movie isn't very impressive enough for me.
Henry told me that this movie is actually a remake of the famous Nightmare movie merchandise of the 80s that he feel is much better during those days. I decided to give it a chance to prove that it's worth watching, but was disappointed at the very beginning of the film. =P

It was a nice try for the producers to remake this 80s classic, I find it average somehow despite some illogical parts.. However, one can easily expect and predict what is going to happen next, which me & most people think should not follow the classic style and altering it with new elements that sound fresh for fussy & demanding audiences like us today..

The 1,2,3,4, freddy thing is not going well now.... *you'll understand if you've watched it*.

One unexpected fact I found out during the movie was, Jason (Eaten) & Weng Sern were actually not-so-used-to with horror movies like this.... One was like closing his eyes with both hands whenever we sense something bad is happening seconds later, another had the movie ticket placed in front of his face to avoid seeing the unnecessary. LoL

Meanwhile, I felt bit like silly for the movie, that's why I laughed a lot at some scenes, though it's not meant to be funny.. it's a bit silly & irrational despite it being a horror movie. (horror sci-fi I guess). Well, it's just not my cup of tea. It's not the type of movie I'm going to pay 11bucks just to warm the seats.

Surprisingly, I only found out that Michael Bay (Director of Transformers film merchandise) was actually behind the making of this movie too. Wtf... Seriously, they need to consider having amendments on the plot and increase its budget if they want the film to be a hit....

Ratings: 4 out of 10
p/s: Fred looks bit like Henry . sorry Henry, you crossed my mind when I first saw him in the film.

Despite such feedback, I'm still looking forward to other movie screenings in the future as I believe there's always some genre that suits my fussy taste =)

Who Will Win the World Cup?

"Why England?", I raised this question when I was still new to football in 2002, during the Japan-South Korea World Cup fever.

I have been wondering why there're so many fans for the once ruling force in our country prior to 1957... Is it merely because of the big names like David Beckham, Michael Owen & Steven Gerard that they fans are after? and that time, I prefer to anti-England and eventually they were sent home during the Quarter Finals by Argentina (1998) & Brazil (2002).

After several years following the English Premier League, I think I knew the answer and I believe England by now is capable in winning the 2010 South Africa World Cup after years of ups and downs.

Although the English team will comprise of players whom are often rivals in the EPL, e.g. John Terry vs Rio Ferdinand... I think many fans have faith in the talents and skills they've shown during the EPL fights and will be able to do well in the safari land when the ball kicks off next month *wow.. I really can't wait for it.* Being labelled as the world's best league, the EPL produces a lot of astonishing footballers that will once again meet face to face in the World Cup finals.. Christiano Ronaldo, Fernando Torres, Wayne Rooney, Carlos Tevez & co. will be eyeing on the golden trophy for their respective countries.

Since the EPL has become an "international" league, not only in Europe but worldwide, England hence has a solid foundation whereby English players more or less know the weaknesses and strengths of their club team-mates and from there, they may find the breaking point and gain advantage during the real match.

Nevertheless, it will be a difficult task as usual with teams like Brazil, Spain, Germany & Italy having a solid fundamental national spirit as compared to England when it comes to international soccer... Enough saying, we shall see the results very soon.

Let's all look forward to June 2010 ~ Woohoo.. Football Fever Never Stops

A tribute to Lin Dan (& his gf, Xie Xing Fang), the man Lee Chong Wei fear the most throughout his badminton career *I guess* .

Many (especially non-China fans) dislike Lin Dan's arrogant attitude, reminds me of Christiano Ronaldo, but that's what a lot of World Champions act nowadays. Nevertheless, there maybe some humble and low-profile sportsmen out there like Ryan Giggs and Park Ji-Sung...

The fact is that the arrogance of Lin Dan instilled confidence in him which made Lee Chong Wei nervous and was a psychological reason behind the defeats by Lin Dan during many encounters, not just the 2008 China Olympic Games and last night's 2010 Malaysia Thomas Cup Semi-finals...
Accept it or not, that's his style. I'm not supporting Lin Dan or anti-Lee Chong Wei.. I'm on the fence but Lin Dan has what it takes to be world no.1 if Lee Chong Wei still can't overcome himself in winning the China #1 in future encounters...

Malaysia have to dream on for the Thomas Cup as long as China is still active in badminton~
Time to learn from China... train'em since young (long-term plannings)

After an hour plus with those balloons, they decided to have DIM SUM as breakfast in Puchong.. Took a big round in Putrajaya before we managed to get back to the right track.... However, things doesn't go quite well especially when there's like 5 cars going together in some unfamiliar area...

There was one part where Ley Yee (and me)'s car were following behind a friend's Saga but she took the wrong turn...... while streetwise Ley Yee managed to get into the right turn and we waited for'em to fix the problem...

After 45 minutes, we managed to reach Puchong safe and sound for breakfast............

NIKI CHEONG for the Adidas Ole KO Challenge!

I personally feel that Niki Cheong aka the Bangsar Boy will win the 1-on-1 futsal game at the Adidas Ole KO roadshow in Midvalley's Centre Court.

Why? *the most common query*

Based on my observation on Project Alpha's S1 & S2 bloggers, Niki is 1 of the most fit *in terms of physical, i guess* compared to some bulky size guys or feminine ladies. I too think that he has a fast pace and could dribble, tackle and strike well...

And if my assumptions ain't wrong, La Salle boys tend to be active in outdoor sports especially in football. I had several friends from La Salle last time and they share the similar appearance like Niki. Tall + Slim/at least fit.. There is no doubt, La Salle produces more footballers & kakis compared to other schools in PJ.. including mine.

So I guess this Bangsar Boy had played quite some matches during his high school days and might even adopted futsal as 1 of his favourite hobbies.

Also, I met him personally during a recent Bloggers Gathering in Times Square and he was quite active in gaming & sports... All the points above concluded that, Niki Cheong will WIN the Adidas Ole KO Challenge ~

Come'on Niki, show'em what you've during the challenge.. Am sure a lot of girls will be cheering for you. haha !

They need girls to work as USHERS and guys as TICKET CHECKERS for the Mayday 五月天Concert @ Stadium Putra Bkt Jalil on 5 June 2010 (Sat). RM 40. (I know it's low, u can choose not to work if u don't like the pay. No1 is forcing) + dinner + uniform.

Gotta standby around 3pm for briefing.
Working Hours: 6pm-11pm but should be free after 9pm when the concert starts.

Can take turns to watch the concert with your friends.
Payment NOT ON THE SPOT. will be given within 1-2mths time (I don't guarantee anything as I'm also working for it!!)

Sources said some Liverpool fans rather hope their club to lose against Chelsea and not to allow United to win the 19th English Premier League cup. LoL. It will be difficult for Liverpool fans, 手掌是肉，手板也是肉。Nevertheless, I'm sure Liverpool, as a great club will be doing their best to grab 3 points. That's what Sir Alex has faith on'em. Therefore, Liverpool still have a decisive role in the EPL run this season despite unable to finish as the Top 4 since Spurs & City are in good form for the final Champions League spot.

Well, let's ENJOY the match tonight =)

First of all, a big thanks to Ley Yee, my friendly & outgoing senior whom invited me to join with him and his fellow UM mates for this event. He knew I was quite keen to join as I've been mentioning about this in my fb status and I got his call around 1am on Sunday morning.

Frankly speaking, it was my 1st ever visit to Putrajaya. I'm not sure about others but I don't see much attractions in the federal administration centre unless you're a government servant, being "forced" to live and work in that area. No doubt, the city is clean, new, fresh and lands are ample enough with less cars on normal days (except for events like this).

Enough saying...let the pics talk !
